Tutorial
Below is the index of a tutorial for use by readers of Fundamentals of Sound 2nd ed.(Levellers Press, 2016). The tutorial uses questions to stimulate understanding of the concepts introduced in the text. The questions are in close correspondence to material from the various sections of the text. Ideally the reader should work through the tutorial in an active manner, that is, you should not just look at the answers immediately, but should try to arrive at your own version of the answer through your own knowledge and reasoning. Various levels of on-line help (hints, reference to the text, and finally a complete explanation) are supplied to aid the learning process. Instructors in courses might consider using these questions as in-class teaching aids. Presenting them allows the students to think more deeply about the subject and also gives useful feedback to the instructor concerning how well the students have grasped the material.
ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE YOU WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY CLICK ON AN APPROPRIATE LINK FOR HELP. Please note that, while the questions are numbered roughtly in the order in which material is covered in the text, consecutive numbers are not necessarily used so that at a later date more questions on related subjects can be interposed without changing the present numbers. Just because you have jumped from Question 5 to Question 10 does not mean that you have missed anything.
